Conference of the Parties on Biodiversity: COP15 in Montreal
The 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is an international meeting that brings together governments from around the world. Participants will define new goals and develop an action plan for nature over the next decade. The conference will take place from 02 to 19 December 2022, in Montreal, Canada, the seat of the United Nations CBD Secretariat.
The Convention on Biological Diversity came into force on 29 December 1993 and currently has 193 Parties.
The Convention aims to promote the conservation of biodiversity (including diversity within species, between species and ecosystems), the sustainable use of its components, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources.
